Gospel Brings Light in the Darkness of Cuba
The Mosts just returned from spending a few weeks in Cuba with friends. This is what they shared upon return.
“Cuba continues to struggle with power outages across the island. This, along with basic necessities being difficult to find and resources being scarce, makes daily life hard for our friends there. These are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of many other areas of society that are struggling.
Yet, amid these difficulties, the good news of the gospel is bringing thousands of people to true life and new hope as they place their faith in Jesus. After much preparation, training, and prayer, an amazing harvest resulted when God moved through a group of believers who made a full day of planned visits to approximately 167 individuals. Incredibly, 94 people, moved by God, publicly put their faith and trust in God, and 76 of these new believers have shown interest in being discipled. During this same outreach, five Bibles and 60 New Testaments were distributed, medical attention and supplies were provided, and basic food items were given to those in desperate need.
We come to the Cuban people with little of our own to give-no great resources or solutions—only our presence, our love, and a willingness to listen, to serve, and to be there. Yet time after time, we are amazed as God does what He promised (Isaiah 51:16; Jeremiah 1:9), placing His words in our mouths. It’s humbling to witness how He uses our small offering to touch hearts, speak truth, and bring lasting impact in ways we never could on our own.”
